Welcome to Barnyard DNA Lab. These Terms & Conditions govern your use of our avian DNA testing services. By submitting samples or placing an order, you agree to be bound by these terms. We are a veteran-owned business based in Louisburg, North Carolina, dedicated to providing reliable genetic insights for poultry enthusiasts and small farms.

1. Service Description

Barnyard DNA Lab provides avian DNA sexing and genotyping services for backyard poultry owners, breeders, homesteaders, and small farms. Our laboratory uses molecular PCR analysis to determine gender and genetic traits from submitted biological samples (typically feathers, blood spots or eggshells).

2. Sample Submission Responsibilities

You are responsible for correctly collecting, labeling, packaging, and mailing all samples to Barnyard DNA Lab. You agree to follow the sample collection and shipping instructions provided on our website or in your order confirmation. Improperly collected, contaminated, damaged, or unlabeled samples may lead to delayed, inconclusive, or invalid results. Barnyard DNA Lab will repeat testing additional times using the remaining samples received. If testing yields no results, you may resubmit samples at the same cost as the original testing, if retesting is desired.

3. Accuracy Disclaimer

While our molecular testing methods reach a 99.9% accuracy rate, results are not 100% guaranteed. Biological variations, extremely rare mutations, or sample quality issues can occasionally affect results. DNA testing is a tool for management and should be used in conjunction with other observation methods.

4. Turnaround Times

Standard turnaround time is 1 business day from the date the sample is received at our Louisburg lab. While we strive to meet these timelines, they are estimates and are not guaranteed. High volume periods or technical requirements for re-runs may extend this window.

5. Payment and Refunds

Payment is required in full at the time of order or sample submission. Due to the laboratory costs associated with processing samples, we do not offer refunds. If an order is cancelled before testing begins, an in store credit, with no expiration, will be issued for future use.

6. Shipping and Lost Mail

Barnyard DNA Lab is not responsible for samples lost, delayed, or damaged in the mail. We recommend using a shipping method with tracking. It is your responsibility to ensure that biological samples are shipped in accordance with local and federal postal regulations.

7. No Veterinary or Medical Advice

The results provided by Barnyard DNA Lab are for informational and flock management purposes only. They do not constitute veterinary or medical advice. Please consult with a licensed veterinarian for any health-related concerns regarding your birds.

8. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall Barnyard DNA Lab, its owners, or employees be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from the use of our services or reliance on test results. Our total liability is limited to the amount paid for the specific test in question.

9. Privacy and Data Handling

We respect your privacy. All customer data and test results are kept confidential and will not be shared with third parties without your consent, except as required by law. We may use anonymized, aggregated genetic data for internal research and improvement of our testing protocols.

10. Intellectual Property

All content on the Barnyard DNA Lab website, including logos, text, and testing protocols, is the property of Barnyard DNA Lab and is protected by copyright and intellectual property laws.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms & Conditions at any time. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting to our website. Your continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

12. Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of North Carolina, USA. Any disputes arising from these terms or our services shall be resolved in the courts located in Franklin County, North Carolina.
